Mio c230 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator
Reviews:

starsNot bad for the price
I am rather happy up to now with this product. It usually obtains to you where you want to go, thereafter. It is good with the sun, and it is easy to include/understand the voice with the text. Against is that the charts that the arn' T very that good, it thinks my own house is at the other end of my street and it think that my house of friends is on a road which is still not paved (it was paved 20 years ago). I know that it is probably a basic error of data and a defect not thier entirely, but there always exists in the product thier. The other thing is that the arn' the T of directions always best. The charts of Google almost always gives you better directions. You will obtain the manner with where you want to go, the right fastest step or convinient. On a route that I take it normally wants that I exceed the road on the slope on my side of the road, to descend the road from the manners, to make U-turn, direct above behind on other side of the road, and take above the slope on this side. How did it provide such a route of assinine? You must use this device with a little your clean good direction thrown inside. I also employ this for geocaching and it is large for that, since it is so good with the sun. All in any step a bad purchase but me wish just that it be easier to employ the menu and the unit was easier with MOD yourself as well. While it is now you cannot compose of the routes in the computer and to transfer them to the unit for example.

starsIt's OK BUT?
The Mio C230 is OK especially for the price. Most text to speech
units are more expensive. It works pretty well but there are some
problems. First, the suction cup mount is too high if you want to
mount it to the dashboard instead of the windshield. Secondly, it
refuses to work if you use a screen protector. The battery life
is not great. The instructions on the disc cannot be printed out(the
hardware instructions can..the software can't). All in all I am
satisfied but MIO could have done a better job.

starsGreat value for the price
I employed this GPS during approximately a month now. TTS is large more in this scale of price. Never failed to obtain to me with my destination although it selects sometimes a route which I would not have chosen. The charts seem up to date very precise and pretty although some streets or nunbers of house which are less than one year or an old man stripped two enumerated. I do not count on POIs to thus less make my general purchases than 1 million Pea was not a problem. Once that I appeared out in the way in which, I create just my own POIs for places frequently used (you can only create POIs in mode of chart, not mode of cockpit.) The first warming-up of the day takes sometimes at a minute to acquire satellites. The majority of other startings are very fast. The unit has only cold to the top of several times and each time it carried out an automatic rebootstrapping and began again where it ceased. Not a significant problem unless you precisely proved to be in the medium of a complex operation of navigation. The directions of voice are clear and convenient. One female voice is called Samantha and is very pleasant (my wife and call me its Sherlock for our own reasons.) The mode of cockpit provides easy to take advice and you can place your own preferences for information shown. The screen is clearly obvious day or night. Stripped I which been able to employ the warnings speed and do not know if the charts for my sector include the information speed. The capacity to choose multiple places like goals or to be added as new final destination is very useful. The recalculation of route is fast. It can try to recover you on the original route several times but then identifies you do not want to go in this way and do not recheminent you more directly. Opposite so that another critic wrote, work of mine very well with a guard of screen in place. In a general way, I was very happy with C230. It does what one cense to do it pretty good at a very good price.

starsMio is good
It is a cheap and good GPS. I like the screen, the size and the TTS (text to speech) feature. I usualy let it at the glove compartment and whenever I need i let on the console or drive holding it so i dont need to let it on the window. also it is good for travels...so far it drove me in FL(Orlando and Miami), NY-NYC, Boston-MA and Killington,VT. It always took me there. The POI is good too. I like that i can use it when I am walking (especially in NYC and Boston) and flying. Sometimes it took awhile (no more than 3min to find the satelite). Some new streets are not there either. But overall I am very happy.

starsExciting
I must say that I was very excited when I received this GPS for Christmas. He is enough small to adapt in the palm of the hand. The thing that I like is especially which if you make a false turn, the GPS you turns good back on the course. I like my GPS for now until me is raised the world of the GPS.

starsGreat Product.
After having reviewed of various units of GPS this product had the best estimate, thus I decided to buy for my wife for Christmas. It is very easy to employ lived until all the reviews and and easy to install. After reading of the fast beginning guide the unit was installed and operational into 5 to 10 minutes. We would recommend this product.

starsa bargain
The Mioc230 is easy to use and is quite a bargain when compared to other brands of similar features. I'm glad I bought it. I suggest a thorough search for the least price.

starsPuny Database
We live in the town of Seattle. In write the "points of interest" paginate seek a store of grocer and narrowest which jumps to the top is upwards in Marysville, WA. 35 miles of distance. The only full one and specifies data base that I found was hospitals. Moreover, Canada is not included; because we is at 2.5 hours of the border, it was one not go. Moreover, the user interface was awkward and difficult to employ for my wife of not-irritable. We returned it.

starsYou get what you pay for....
After using the Mio C230 for about a month I can honestly say you get what you pay for. The C230 is nice little GPS, nothing fancy. The text to speech is very nice for this price range and helps a lot. It's accurate, and the route recalculations are pretty quick and accurate if you've missed a turn.

The biggest drawback is the Points of Interest (POI). At about 1 million it falls far short of the POI provided by other services. I actually find myself surprised when it has a restaurant or service I want. It also could use an update to some of it's maps. Some smaller back roads do not appear in the database. This can be very frustrating when trying to type in an address for a road that Mio does not think is there. When this happens I tend to use the cross street function which works pretty well as a work around.

Setup was easy and it take about 2-3 minutes to find us from a cold start. At $160, it's a decent GPS but if I had it to do all over again I might spend another $100-150 and get one that has more info in it's database...

starsGreat Value and Very Responsive Signal.
To start, I am very new with the technology of GPS. After having seen my friends MILLION c220 I was fascinated and decided to obtain a GPS myself. I decided mainly between Garmin and Tom Tom After the evaluation as of both let us pros/cons them of each one I thought of that initially MILLION my friend had and found the MILLION DE C230. Now you ask, which put out of box this small type: 1. Very contract - I would say that the screen is a little larger then a chart of play. I was astonished how easily adjustments by this unit in your pocket of trousers. 2. Routes multipoint - significance which you can place the multiple routes to progress one after the other. For example, suppose that you want to go from your current place, in the room of gymnastics, then at a restaurant. You can thus program this unit from the very start a route will follow afterwards others in the order. 3. signal - the signal is VERY strong. 4. Text-With-speech - yes, it will indicate the "tour on the left on the street of YONGE in 500 M" 5. Canada traces - the standard unit does not come with these charts. However, you can easily download the latter of the net (google of use). 6. Customizable - google of research. 7. - a text with speech GPS for as low as $150 - $175 cost. Good in value him. The disadvantage: The internal storage of this unit is enumerated to 1 gigaoctet. Because of this limitation, there is only approximately of 900.000 Peas and aucunes charts of Canada. However, it come with memory from expandle (standard deviation) and you can buy a chart to add your own POIs and charts made on order. Strongly recommended to the new consumer of GPS, particularly if the your consumer comparing only TomTom against Garmin.

starsgets you where you're goin'
very usable right out of the box used next day to find stadium in another town took me right to it

starsZip Code Glitch!
The MILLION c230, c220, and probably of other models has a problem of postal code (at least in the area of Pittsburgh). This unit could not to even obtain me at a normal address with Pittsburgh of the center. I put in the postal code of the center and the million c230 wanted that I led to suburbs with the same address of street but the different postal code. Then I tried to seek my destination initially starting with the city. This time the c230 gave me 2 choices; the suburbs previously mentioned and a place of the center, both enumerated with the false postal codes. I called the company and was known as that they do not have any update available to fix this problem (however). Moreover, it was difficult to employ the million with a handbook of file of pdf of roughly 90 pages (on a disc). In the comparison, reader 150 of Pharos that I commutated with came with a file from pdf from 29 pages. I returned the million and decides to test the unit of Pharos, since it was so much strongly evaluated by the writers of the Amazon. Up to now I am much happier with reader 150. He is easier to employ, more up to date, and comes with a useful group of accesories. Although I should mention you do not have an option of postal code on Pharos, as well as some other models including/understanding Garmins. However, Pharos has not to still carry out me to the completely false place, like the million. Pharos has the enumerated correct postal codes once that it finds your choices possible for the destination. Starting with the city or the sector initially was precise remakably with reader 150 of Pharos. If you want information correct, remain far from the million c230. Moreover, the million c220 of my friend has the same problem. Worst of all, MILLION does not have any manner of fixing this problem. If I had been in a city which I was not familiar with, the million me would have lost. Good luck if you obtain one.

starsGreat value
The MILLION c230 functions very well and it is a great value. There are few units of GPS at this cost with full directions of voice. The system of menu is little odd compared with the units of garmin -- but it is functional. The level of voice is not as strong as some others of the units of GPS. The stand of support is excellent. In a general way, it is a very good unit at an excellent price.

starsme oh my mio
I received the Mio as a Christmas present and am still in the process of learning how to use it. It works nicely except for a few shortcomings. My major concern is that its map program has some mistakes in my neighborhood, leading me to question whether there will be mistakes when I try to navigate in unknown territory. Also, our house is 500 feet from the road on which we live, and the program thinks the address should be some 100 feet from the road. As a result, when we get to our house the unit places us on an old carriage road, now a hiking path, that passes by our house. The road has never been used for cars (only horse and buggies) but the program tries to start us off on any itinerary from that location.

I like the idea that additional maps can be added via the SD slot. I am anxiously awaiting release for the American unit of Canadian and European maps, so that we can use the unit for walking routes on our travels.

On balance, I am very pleased with the unit and will find it even more useful with the additional maps.

starsa deal if you don't demand a lot
it is small and light, easy to use above. the major part of time the route which it gives is good but: the options of language are limited and it does not have Chinese; "follow" the button is thus close to the bar lower than they often interfere one the other; "bourdonner-in" the button is thus close to the bar of ceiling which they often interfere one the other; sometimes it indicates that the "signal of lost GPS" and must wait one moment until to you it "awakes" upwards.

starsGreat GPS
I never employed a GPS before and I would not be good with computers, but I like right million c230. I have only the lhad it for 1 month but I employed it approximately 6 times. I did not have any problem with him whole. It carried me right to the door of several destinations. And once on the way with the destination that I stopped with a park for the lunch and to go my dogs. I had not put it in the million but when I went to leave the park (which I before had never been inside. I noted that I had had confused with all the roads and choice to take. But I turned the million back above which it discovered where I was in park and was recovered to me on the way with my destination. It was awsome. I feel in safety by using this GPS. I must admit, there am much more devices to the GPS which I am able to employ only because I do not have the qualifications of computer, not because the GPS is faulty. I hope to control the latter in the future. For the price, and quality I am made quiver of this product and would recommend it to each one.

starsGood entry level GPS for the price
The reason that I selected the MILLION 230 was for the text with the device of the word with $200 below. It carried out until my hopes. I would recommend this unit for no matter whom who wants a level of entry inexpensive GPS. The text with the device of the word is A must. Out of the documentation of box was enough to start to me but did not include a copy of the handbook of of-chart Million. The handbook included shows how to install the unit and some of the foundations but not how to reach many the devices. I went to the Web site. I did not find much under the MILLION 230 remote loadings but after remote loading of the handbook of of-chart Million for the MILLION 220 model me could appear out way of obtaining the majority out of the unit. The charts are rather recent. Although a local road which was recheminée in 2006 did not appear, a new subdivision of friends whom I did not hope to be enumerated was there. In test made me. The routes the selections of unit are not always that which I would employ but they obtained to me with my destination. Since I will employ mainly this unit for out of the voyages from city I did not want to spend much of money. This unit was a great introduction to the world of the GPS.

starsI love it!!
I like this GPS! It is the greatest present that I ever obtained. It is easy to employ and I did not lose myself since I have it!

starsnice gps
I wish it had more POI's, but it works well. Just moved to OR and I haven't gotten lost when I've had this. The screen is smaller than one of the wide units, but I mainly listen for directions and don't look at the unit itself.

starsgreat deal!
I had this product during a few weeks and it is large up to now! The best device is than it speaks the street names, than of others at this price did not make (and speaks clearly). I would assist the other comments that it can be a little hard to appear outside initially and the handbook is not the best, but the test and the error for some goes up should obtain made work. Moreover, it seems to have each point of interest that I sought, with up to date telephone numbers -- including/understanding small restaurants and newer companies. It is the first GPS which I had, thus I cannot really compare, but I give him a great review and would recommend it to the friends.

starsMio C230 GPS
Work of unit spouts out and was located quickly. My only felt sorry for are there is not any written handbook and several times when I had it the practice to go some share which I knew the place of him took to me in a round about manner of arriving there does not import what I had the route to place above. Once that it indicated to me to lead well after the place I wanted that and then took around two more blocks to me did obtain again with where I were other end of the road? The CD handbook is completely complete but it not even let you print sections of him thus you can have them in the car with you for the reference. This STINKS! ! In a general way a good basic unit so that the right MILLION needs for the prices refine the air some and of you give a handbook which you can take with you in the car to return learning the simpler operation.

starsMio C230 Navagator is an excellent buy
I bought the million C230 on a lark. Only cost $130 thus what it pier with open-type screen. Well, I have Garmin 330 and it beats the hands of Garman downwards. The devices which I like are the enormous data base of PIOs which seems icons on the chart. The service stations, camera with the stop signs, of the arrows of indicator that etc all. are new with me. Flexibility to add the camera to the places by a click of a button is a very useful innovation. The local speed limit by the cameras is a good idea too. The automatic sights are very useful while leading in new sectors. I employed mine on a journey to priceless value proven of C.C (I live in Texas) while directing the new complex motorways in the area of D. C. About the only thing that that took a certain time to include/understand was the voice: It is nonAmerican European. Some pronunciations are funny but precise. The screen of contact is very sensitive but I arrive at like that. I found navigation by the many pages to be intuitive. You must read the handbook however to obtain the full advantage.

starsMio C230 vs Garmin nüvi 350
I bought C230 like gift and wanted to learn how it to teach the recipient who is defied technology. The comparison was during a voyage from Colorado in Florida. I had bought my wife a nüvi 350 approximately 18 months previously. The nüvi 350 A several devices nonavailable in the million C230, but I did not mention them for the comparison. I would equalize a nüvi 200 with my review like unit righter to compete with the million C230. First impressions: The icons and the sectors of button are appreciably smaller there on C230 are more them and it is thus more difficult to choose exactly a function while leading particularly if the road is not smooth. A needle can help considerably, but you would need a place to fasten it. I employed a retracted pen of ink inclined by plastic and you must almost be ceased to make much on the million or to have a passenger do it. The structure of menu seems less intuitive than Garmin, but without preceding experiment for the comparison I think that you would learn it and would employ approximately as effectively. For example: The glare of noise and screen is 2 contacts against on the nüvi. 4 for C230. (then 2 against. 4 to turn over to the chart). C230 has many devices which compare with the nüvi 350 and some additional expenses that I wish were in the nüvi 350 such as multiple vias with the optimized advance. A device missing on C230 is an audio jack of output which is in the nüvi 350. Data of chart - NavTeq (NT) against atlas tele (MT) MT traces the minor angles from time to time shown road (curves) which were not always present in the true world. The NT has softer polygons and more detail of ground like lakes and rivers (with names) that the posting of ground of Garmin looks at thus more realistic. MT employs a finer detail which is more with one precise balance and can be preferred by some users. The ways of NT are showed in an exaggerated way which makes them show to facilitate it more in obviousness of this fact to see at a glance. However, once that you bourdonnez rather inside the detail of road tend to measure about identical between the two. I tend to prefer the chart of NT of Garmin above the million chart of MT. C230 will show certain POIe like icons and street names in the reinforcements of box which follow with the chart while you lead. The NT shows flags as selected points of navigation and does not show POIs close to the data base. The street names of NT are inside or beside the borders of street which I think of the marks for a cleaner posting. Million flags is animated (vague as if the wind blows) whereas the flags of Garmin are not. Both will show more named detail as you bourdonnez inside. The million posting can become a little encumbered with all the information which it can show, but it can selectively be stopped. I obtained a small difference in distance of percentage for the destination or by the intermediary of the points which disappeared as you close to the points from arrival. MT brought back more miles by NT 1-3% finished in approximately 200 miles. It could be an accumulation of the additional details of road which the program includes by calculating the distance. My signs of odometer and road of car were in conformity more in Garmin for the exactitude of kilomètrage. C230 gives appreciably more direction of voice and is often unnecessarily talkative or superfluous. Much time it would repeat the same direction twice. Often it would unnecessarily advise you about a curve while the nüvi 350 was quiet. I preferred the directions of voice of nüvi because an excessively talkative GPS can become annoying. C230 has 3 English votes, but only offers TTS of voice of Samantha (the USA). The nüvi 350 A TTS in very of him is voices and has English voices. (2 each-(male/female) for the USA, RU, the AUS) I like the compact design of frame of cup of aspiration of windshield of Garmin better than million, but I had the obligation of cup of aspiration of Garmin to my windshield above the month to leave it on the windshield and it had to be replaced. I read that Garmin could have changed the material of cup which could have fixed the problem. The million frame is total much larger and the cup is made of a clear plastic which could not suffer the same problem. Stripped I considering all the reports/ratios of the problems, but me would inform against to leave a cup of aspiration attached for long periods. The two frames function well. The frame of Garmin is a better design in my opinion. Conclusions: Million C230 seems to be a very good GPS for the money with more adjustability of device that Garmin. With the sites notching active for the million, the techies can prefer C230. The nüvi of Garmin would be a better choice for a user of beginner, but both do a very good work of you to arrive there. It seems that you will find to trace errors and the errors of voice in the two marks and me did not find either to be perfect. It is always a rather new technology which all the manufacturers always address these problems.

starsGreat GPS for the Price
I've had this unit for about a week. So far, I've only used it in the city where I know where I'm going. The unit starts up quickly, gives clear directions, the text to speach is wonderful and the maps are clear. I expect similar performance on routes that I'm not familiar with. All I wanted was a good navigation system, since I already have bluetooth, MP3, video, web browsing, etc. in my iPhone. The unit is small enough to fit in a pocket and the mounting system is excellent. For the money, the Mio C230 can't be beat.

starsgood basic GPS
This is my first GPS, basically knows what I expected based on the previous reviews. I didn't want any extra features, just the basic GPS functions. The text-to-speach feature is great, the streets' names are pronounced surprisingly well. The route recalculation is done quickly and intelligently. Adjusting some features needs some navigation between menu points. It would be great to be able to load more points of interest from an optional SD card. Finding the satellite signal is usually fast, sometimes takes a while. I was thinking to give 5 stars, I would be more confortable with 4.5

I would recommend this little unit to any first time buyer who is not sure about the utility of such a device and doesn't want all the other bells and wisles offered by the more expensive models.

starswonderful
I obtained this before Thanksgiving and had employed it during several times. I like it. It obtained to me at the good place always. The only complaint that I have is its battery of the shor-life. You will have to maintain it reloaded. And only the charger of car is provided.

starsGreat value for the money, very satisfied
I had the Mio c220 and was very impressed. It was stolen and so I needed a new one and got the Mio c230. This unit works very well and announces the street names. Drawbacks: not the bigger screens- you need to play with it for a while to figure out how it works- it doesn't have billions of POD's- takes a minute at startup. PROS- it announces the street names and gives accurate information and nothing does this for so little money. If you want a GPS that navigates for a price this is it. I don't use it for music so I don't even know if it does that- for me navigation is what I need it for. Highly recommended!

starsAfter Two Days' Use
Well, I've used the Mio C230 for two days now, and it has pleased me both times--yesterday, I was headed to a street whose inhabitants said it wasn't on Mapquest or GPS systems (I haven't checked the veracity of the Mapquest claim), but the C230 got me there. It is simple, clear, and accurate. I give it four stars rather than five because, as has been mentioned in other reviews, the points of interest are rather limited--no post offices, Starbucks, or the like. While not a major setback, it can be somewhat annoying. Nevertheless, it is a wonderful system, especially for the price.

starsOVERALL GREAT BUY, A FEW MINOR PROBLEMS
I did much research before choosing a system of GPS, making comparisons of each mark which I could find and various models. My conditions were text-voice, price as cheap as possible and precise directions. For: (1) it is the cheaper model the text-voice than I could find. A good number of European languages to choose, including Spanish and French. In English, you can choose between the voice of a girl, the voice of a boy, or the voice of a British boy. (2) very easy to make a handing-over it lasts if it dirties upwards. The push right the button with again with with far during a minute and turn all then behind above. Good like new! (3) very precise directions for the area of compartment. No strange, long, routes of round not on the subject of which some others criticize feel sorry for. I even was unaware of the directions and it always recomputed very quickly and exactly. (4) the screen is interesting and luminous. Can see it all the hour. On option, it can even turn to colors of night the night which is easier on the eyes. (5) the noise is rather strong if you want that it is. It can even obtain more extremely when you go more quickly. (6) includes a good number of optional additional expenses such as the warning you when you will fast, adding various kinds of cameras of the traffic, adding the multiple destinations, the multiple directions of linearization of destination, etc... Against: (1) it can remove one moment with the figure where you are. Sometimes it is instantaneous, sometimes that takes one minute or two. If you try to begin it to the top while you move, it can begin you with far in a certain completely random spot, but it will be corrected quickly. Moreover, for some reason my number of house is not in the chart thus it cannot find my house exact to start from, but it employs the house of a neighbor thus it does not carry out the directions. I too thus intend other systems GPS to have the similar problems it could be true of all the systems of GPS. (2) there is not any manner of adding the exact address of a POI unless it is in the chart, which is a result of the same problem as indicated into (1) above. Instead of that, it will change automatically into an address which IS in the chart, but it can be a block or so much far. Nonterrible, but ideally it' D be nice to have the exact address inside. For example, if I go to the it' D of the house of my friend are nice of knowing the exact number of house. TIP: To cure problem, I just put the exact number in the name of the POI. For example, the label of POI, I claim it "Room 192 of James". (3) I am very computer savvy, but this thing takes a certain practice to appear out way of employing special uses such as the multiple destinations and of adding habit POI. The basic ones "obtain at point A" are rather intuitive. (4) when it comes, the battery is exhausted enough. You must charge it to the top in order to spending time to appear out in the way in which that functions. It is the only case where I wished that it come with an adaptor with A.C.. Since it comes only with one adaptor from C.C, I led around for a little examining out of him is exactitude while charging to the top of the battery. I played around with him a little at the house once that the battery was charged. (5) some of the addresses in the data base of POI are incorrect. For example, it enumerates the universal studios Hollywood as being in Scandinavian California though it is obviously in southernmost California. It does not seem y to have any manner of changing this. I have right addition the correct address like habit POI. (6) for some reason, by using the marks of short cut of "maison" often it taken appreciably longer to find directions than if you click right on the address in the "histoire". (7) aucunes Asian languages in the options of the word. (8) for some reason the clock (which is automatically regulated) is always to 10-30 minutes with far from the real time. TIP: Adapt the routes which you want to allow initially, can with the customer requirements to take the test. By using the million in the area of compartment, it gave some strange directions when I let it remain on the defect which includes roads of toll. Once that the not repressed roads of toll of I, it gave the directions which I would normally take. In a general way, very good. Against I mentioned is really very a minor and really the experiment of direction of drive does not carry out. It will oblige you point A to direct B Moreover, I were afraid that it went to be too small. 3.5"retentit small, but it is really a good size.

starsBetter than Garmin
The Mio C230 works great and is a great value.

Pros:

1. Highly sensitive SiRFstar III GPS chipset
- It works around large trees, indoors, around large buildings

2. It reroutes extremely fast. If you miss a turn, then you will be rerouted in less than 5 seconds.

3. It has an option to optimize your route. If you need to go to several different locations and you want to go to those locations in the quickest order, then the Mio will determine the quickest route for you. This is great for those who do delieveries, real estate agents, or other sales professionals. (This feature is not available on Garmins.)

4. Text to Speech. It audibly tells you the name of the street you need to turn onto. Makes for safer driving and it's convienent.

5. Slim design. It's not as bulky as some other GPS units.

Cons:

1. Limited Points of Interest. If plan on using your GPS unit to find restaurants and gas stations, then you might want to chose another brand or a more expensive MIO GPS Unit. The C230 on has about 1,000,000 points of interest.

2. New Roads. There are a few new roads in my city that are not included in the Map software. The user cannot add new roads to the software, but I am not sure if any other GPS brands allow you to do so.

Bottom Line:

Quality: One of my relatives has 6 MIO gps units that he bought for his family and employees to use in his business. He has not had any problems with the MIO brand.

The Mio C230 is not perfect, but it is a great value and does a lot of things really well. I would say that it is the best entry level GPS unit available and that it better than some units that cost $100.00 more.

I returned my Garmin C330 and bought 2 MIO C230s.

starsBad screen
Too dim to see in daylight. I had a problem with the screen blanking out intermittently and returned it.

starsDon't ask just buy if you never have GPS Nav before
If you pay below $200, it is in value, does not need even glance to the chart to him, just listens to, follows the text to the directions of the word, it is very easy to hold the first role, but you will need a little hour to appear out in the way of being added and to save your own POI, you can install the multiple "by the intermediary of the points", it is tall for the people who are ready to make shopping a property in recent launch on the market downwards, it are great purchase!

starsVery Nice Gadget
We bought two for the family. Does that take time obtaining the use with but which isnt? ? In a general way, once that you obtain the blow of him, it is any step also complicated the text with the word is very nice also, which is him is the best device than I would recommend it.

starsIt will get you there, eventually
I must agree with others that the MIO C230 is not a very easy to use unit. Prepare to spend some time to read the manual (no hardcopy) to figure out how to fully benefit from this unit. I was looking for a low cost ,basic GPS with text to speech. And the C230 fit the bill. One thing I noticed is that the routings were not too logical but it will eventually get you there. The 3.5 inch screen is bit small for my task but I am not willing to pay $150 more for a bigger screen with same capibility.

starsMio c230 potable GPS
This unit is user friendly. The touch screen is easy to use. The maps are preloaded. Set up was easy. Good value for the cost.

starsGreat little piece of technology
Have used it a dozen times in towns and cities all over Florida ... works great!!!

starsValue for money!
The weather is very smooth and fresh! With the very good devices to concentrate on foundations. Very precise while of drive and recalculation OS quickly. The problem is that that takes one moment to acquire the signal of GPS once lit. It is not precise when we are in a fate of parking. It shows us near on the end of road.

starsA great GPS for such price
I bought this GPS at the day of thanksgiving, 148$ including/understanding all. At this time, I cannot decide which to choose, Mioc230 or Garmin C340 (about 200$), with the so similar price and functions. One delays GarminC340 has the bad one against, the message of request of action which means, it will give you the message of request to the moment even where you are with the crosssection, dangerous. Some say that equal Garmin C330 does not have a any such imperfection. Finally I went to MioC230, 50$ less, but to work large. Very luminous, important appearance to lead under the strong sunlight. To say the street name. The pronunciation of Nice, approximately three messages of front request to act the last message of request is about 150yards before rotation. It it very interesting that he will encourage you to maintain left or right, such as you are well prepared to turn when you come to the crosssection. Some say that the interface is not friendly, I do not think thus. You do not need to even install anything with the first race. When you want that it guides you on the road, turn above power(red the button), click the menu on the side of the left-bottom, click the address or click the history if you combine there front, enter the address. After it is made, it will return the first screen(the starting the screen when you turn on the power), click the route with it is ready to take to you what you want. See, it is very simple. It is very interesting that you should not enter the full street name, of the couples the letters that initial can be enough, for example irv of entry, it will identify it is irvine. It can only store the address two on the favarite, house and work, really, you can find it in the history, thus you should not enter still, very convenient. against: formerly, it will confuse it left and right, but only one time one moment. In short, it is really a large GPS with saying the street name.

starsMio c230: a lot for the money
The million c230 is much of navigator for the money. 1. Its posting of 3d street/hwy is impressive: the glances enough and is luminous. 2. It indicates the street names verbally to you. 3. It can simulate your voyage envisaged but the speed of voyage is somewhat slow. 4. It allows a certain variable control of the volume of recall of service. 5. It enables you to put in multiple places and to optimize the order of your arrivals of destination. 6. You have the control of the shown statistics: time of arrival, hour to turn after etc... 7. Keyboard QWERTY or of alpha - your choice. 8. The carriage of GPS is vigorous and easy to operate. 9. Suggest the alternative routes. 10.It is almost complete. The exceptions include: * No voice-identification of the orders of user. * No storage of address of name (only limited after the history). * No recall of the last ordering of voice. * The Pea is limited, but not a occupy-breaker for much. * It can be difficult to use the small posting of 3.5"pour of large people of finger. * The advertisements of arrival do not indicate which side of the street. * The curve of study on this unit can be intimidating with certain - but it is worth the sorrow waiting. * The tiddlywinks of chart does not know where some on slopes are, and they will not always indicate which direction with going to you (for example Fwy Going towards north). Consequently, you must project ahead by obtaining visual on the chart. * To obtain a signal of GPS of a cold start will take between 1-2 minutes, other beginnings during the same day will be shorter. * Sometimes the unit will reload during long voyages, but it selects the support in approximately 30-45 seconds without losing a beat. * When there are fast towers, after the other, you can have to slow down while the million is caught up with. * The flexibility of alternative route requires for improvement thus the unit will follow your example if you take a different way (problem on the majority of the units) pay attention of the reviews based on a limited experiment of user - the indicating signs include words of euphorism as well as absolute reports/ratios. The excitation is comprehensible because of precipitations of adrenalin which you obtain when one of these babies correctly directs you on a your first journey. However, the majority of the units of GPS have certain limitations as the traffic in real time which is not really in real time, the charts which are not 100% precis, or the tendency to become confused in the parking divided in batches. Science is developed and obtains always a better finished time... The million c230 has many devices often found in greater, dearer units and is much for less than $200.

starsGPS Route Calculations are Unintelligent even with techsupport help
Frankly, the unit is very stupid in choosing routes, it will get you to your destination eventually.

This unit wastes your time in ridiculous routes that only a LOST out of towner might choose if they did not know the area.

One time it told me to drive on a parallel course with the SR-520 highway to get to I-405. This parallel course is 30 miles/hr with MANY stop lights.
While the SR is 60 miles/hr with no stop lights. It connects directly with I-405.

This example above was repeated over and over in other circumstances.

I went to Google Maps, I chose the same TO and FROM points, as I expected, Google Maps made smart choices in use of Highways and which exits to use.

In conclusion, I returned the unit after 3 days.

starsGood product but limited POIs
The excellent one for this price. Precis more of time. Less built-in Pea. Additional pea available for the overcost, but its expensive that the real unit.

starsNever lost again
I am very bad when it comes to the charts and the directions. This GPS (million c230) went well to my new better friend. The charts and the screen are very luminous and clear. The voice is very strong and clear, the pronunciation of the street names while not the prefect is very good. The interface takes a certain use obtaining too. But once that you learn it be placed to go. The points of interest could be larger. But if points of everyones of interest were canned in the unit you would need a Terabyte of memory. You can add your clean. When the million me indicates to be well and I go on the left it recomputes very quickly. The price and technology are incredible and him adjustments in my pocket of shirt without the problem (I badine not). It does not have a construction in MP3 the player, it will not show your photographs of family, it does not play the satellite or the radio of HD. But it will obtain to you where you want to go. And it is what counts.

starsbest value for the price
for: - I like the sight of cockpit and the configurable options of posting - small size - text-voice - loading made on order of poi by using the card slot of standard deviation - not as intuitive as the other GPS, bcz of fate of option on the small screen not a problem for me, used with in the couples of the days. against: - the need for recalibrer the everytime of screen when - the charts are not in detail, does not say if the destination is good or left side of the road - the reloaded adaptor of AC current is not included - very little POI included, stores of commander like the walmart, target, costco etc. are not included

starsI like it
I had the MILLION 230 for a couple of the months and likes much them. The councils of voice with the text with the word are useful and allow me to keep my eyes on the road. The charts are rather precise even in my rural sector and better in the cities and of the roads. The support of dashboard, required in California, was the greatest exit. The MILLION provided stand was too large for my use and seems better conceived for the support of windshield that on the dashboard. I made a rest drink some for him with of Velcro which rests on my indent and functions very well. This cost approximately $3. Many people complained about the small keyboard on the MILLION ABOUT, but for me which is not a significant exit. I previously tested the street of Garmin 330 pilot, a good unit and simpler to employ than MILLION. However, they is charts were not like precis in my sector. Worse, the form of Garmin was cumbersome, heavier and not almost as convenient as the nearest units of car of GPS, which includes the MILLION.

starsGood value
I bought this unit as a gift and it seems to compare favorably to my Garmin Nuvi 350. I would have bought this instead if it had been released sooner.

starsOne with good value
With the price which comes with text-voice, I consider this one a very good value. I examined the unit with intensive control under snow inside a city and works always good. I took it leading to the middle of the night in wood, and it carried me with where I must be. Yes, all the charts has errors. I found a destination which I am familiar with, the result of advance does not show where one cense to be it. I tested the same destination with Garmin 650. Guess what, it leads to a road which is not there any more. Yes, the Pea is lower other units. Consider that no chart is 100% correct. I employ the GPS as an assistance, not envisaging I can close my eyes and drive the car around. However, c230 has some devices not provided by Garmin unless you want to pay $700-$800. With the combination of the price and devices, I consider it a good purchase.

starsInexpensive, and probably worth it.
At $139, this was a steal for a beginner Text-to-speech model. However, you get what you pay for.

Pluses: Inexpensive, works (mostly), decent mount, text-to-speech

Minuses: Tele-Atlas maps are loaded with errors, distances on alerts seem off resulting in some late warnings, low battery life. Unit gets confused when you leave the road and enter a parking lot. Low number of (strangly selected) Points of Interest.

Here is an example of a problem: Going from I-95 North in Boston to I-90 West, the unit guided me to "I-90 Massachusetts...Pike" instead of "Massachusetts Turnpike Westbound". On the reverse trip, it sends me to "Yankee Division Highway" instead of "I-95" or "Route 128", the much more common names for the same road.

But for $139 (post Thanksgiving special) I can't complain too much, but if I were to do it again, I'd probably go with a Text-to-speech NAVTEQ model. Regardless, I still think GPS units are miraculous technology.

starsMio C230 a great GPS for the price
the million ******** of for 230C of ****** - enough small to adapt in your pocket - text with the word must large have at this price - automatic calculation of route when you miss a turn, - you makes it possible to enter your own POI and to create subfolders for them, - the sight of cockpit have all the information which you must see that which operation will come afterwards and when, - topics very customizable of color of chart - uses SiRF Tiennent the first role tiddlywinks III for satellite lock quickly and very precise - automatic uses hour of mode of night and time zone to adjust itself you approach your destination (configurable) - the expenses by using the cord of USB, - you allow to remove certain operations and or roads of your route, - the slit of chart of memory of standard deviation enables you to save your personal Pea and arrangements - the frame of window is solid of rock - uses 2007 charts - you makes it possible to enter the latitude and the co-ordinates of longitude this comes in very handy when to obtain coordinates other sources like the ground of Google or the lists of POI on the Internet. - price - obtained for $172.00 on sale in Nov.. 2007@ DC. the million ******* of against the 230C of ****** - needs a needle unless you have fingers of needle, - the slit of standard deviation is not employed for anything else other than to save your Pea and of arrangements, - life of battery is short (like 2 ½ hours, 4 hours if you employ the smart device of screen), - bases data very limited of POI (less than million), - the system of menu does not run intuitively, - no update of chart available in date of this review (Nov. 2007) - found a road going back to two years - the majority of the roads on the military basis downtown had false names, nonsure if this is done on the goal for the reasons of safety or the atlas tele is simply sorry. - no handbook of printed paper form, it comes as file from pdf of 92 pages which you must read starting from your computer unless you want to spend the resources to print your clean, - the GPS becomes confused when in addition to road and in mode of car (the fates of parking is an example).

starsgood gps for the price
The million C230 is the best value for general practitioners with the text with the word. It is small and easy to employ and the directions are precise (unless that takes sometimes a longer route). By instructions, the first starting of the day can take a good moment, but is rather fast then that. Only really in bottom on the side is when it indicates to you to turn in 100 yards, it is more like 100 feet.

starsGreat features pity about the maps
After having fallen in love with the system in my Acura RL I wanted a system portable for another car. This small unit has some exceptional devices and options. But it is choice of the routes was problematic. It insisted on the fact that I use a road which was closed during more than 20 years. It was turned over.

starsJust a GPS
I had used c230 for couple of weeks.
It has lots of fancy features which sounds preety good.
However, when I drive to Jercey city,it take us to no where.
I returned my C230 days ago.

starsGood for the price
It is the second GPS which I employed, the first is ic the 3600 of Garmin, which is enough the decent one unless no text with the function of the word and awkward dashboard go up. After the experiment with Ique3600, I want that my next GPS has the text with the device of the word (it is important to keep your eyes on the road all the hour, withou looking at the GPS while making turns) and is accessible. Million C230 falls into this catagery. I bought by Amazon.com approximately a month ago and led approximately thousand miles in the different sector (NY, my, Pa). The chart is precise enough for these sectors and the recalculation of route is fast. The only complaint is: the POI limited the number, it does not have Walmart and Costco close to my house. If POI does not worry you as much, I think that it is a great purchase.

starsGood tracking, but has some shortcomings
The C230 has a affinity for traffic signals, speed-bumps, stop signs and residential neighborhoods (it can get you killed in Philly), over direct, faster routes. It will invariably pick the most complicated, slow path from A to B, and seems to favor left-hand turns - as many as it can pack into your trip. The more turns the better. Anyone with a map can do better than MIO. Also, as others have mentioned, the screen is very difficult to access. Other than the above, it works great. Sound and display are good, and has great features. If you want the scenic route, it's great, but if in a hurry, look elsewhere.

starsGreat for starters
Great price. Easy to employ. Very precise directions. Cannot find anything in this scale of price which speaks the street names. Employed in CA and the TX and work very well. The only reason that this obtains a 4star is because the user's manual sucks. There is group of icons which could be will upfront explained rather than to discover by test and error. In a general way a great value for the money.

starsMio C230 does what I need it to do
The million portable portable navigation million C230 Digiwalker GPS portable of car of DigiWalker C230 GPS of system of navigation of the car c230 million I selected C230 for the following reasons: 1. The price was exact. It was on sale for $175 at the town of circuit plus me had a good $15. 2. It is the cheaper unit with "text the device with word" than I could find. 3. It improves on C220 with a better more luminous screen and is stronger. 4. All GPSs on mark of the market (expensive or and "not named" or not) mixed the reviews, thus me appeared that I would take my chances... 5. I like the manner that you can "incline" the sight between the 2d and 3d and to stop you in the interval. 6. You can install multiple goals between point A and the point sure B Non how much you can have but him is better than a similar model, the word Garmin 300 which you can have a beginning and a destination with one by the intermediary of the point (3 total goals). 7. It thus has a device "of panoramic of chart" you can draw the chart on the screen in any direction for this which-if planning of the scenario. 8. The charts are tele atlas of August 2007. It is my first GPS thus I do not have anything with differently comparing it with for: 1. Sensitive. If you do not follow the control of the directions the unit given, it will recompute quickly. 2. Enough devices for a basic GPS. 3. The cup of aspiration is excellent! I installed it on the windshield. It does not go anywhere. The unit breaks moving and easy stop without much of effort. 4. Slit of memory of standard deviation for the future expansion. Against: 1. Not very easy to use. Time of the need to learn how to employ it. 2. Does not have charts of Canada. 3. If you have large fingers or cannot program a video tape recorder, that will not function for you. 4. No connectivity of Bluetooth, no MP3, aucunes images. 5. The levellings of chart seem evasive and/or expensive. With digging, I found the 2008 levellings of the north of chart of America (includes the United States and Canada) for ~$180 on the official Web site http://www.mio-tech.be/shop/product_info.php?PATH=34

starsgreat
purchase right it U will not regret it, comparing stop, the devices that this has and the slope of the prices to be thus compared stop seeking the garmin, Tom of Tom, they bevel compare.

starsWorks Great and Easy to Use
I bought the MIO C230 based on much research and reviews and I have to say after two months of use that I'm quite satisfied with the purchase. The learning curve is almost non-existent. You can learn most of the commonly used features by playing around with the on-screen menus without going through the instrucation booklet. More importantly, it does what it is supposed to do and does it well which is to give directions. The text-to-speech feature is a must - that's the exact reason I bought this unit besides its low price. I drove one time with a friend with the C220 model without such feature and got lost by not turning at the right street, becasue when two streets ahead are close by, and when your GPS tells you to turn right or left in 300 yards, who knows which street the GPS is referring to.

stars*****Great GPS for an unbeatable Price*****
I have the Mio C230 for about a month now. I have to say it was not very easy to use, but after a couple of hours, I was able to find my way around it. This is my third GPS, I have a Garmin C340 for almost two years, and a Nuvi 370 for about eight months; so I can say that I have a bit of experience with the Garmin products which considered to be one of the best GPS in the market. The only reason I got the Mio is the ability to add multiple stops to your final destination (Via Points), and the Mio's ability to optimize the route for you, a feature not available in the Garmin products. My girlfriend is a realtor, and she makes numerous stops to show houses to her clients; with the Garmin, she had to enter one stop at the time, which means that she might be going back and forth or zig zaging around; with the Mio, all she has to do is to input as many addresses as she needs to, and then the Mio will optimize the route and guide her around, cool.
You can enter address either by state / city / street; or you can use zip code / street; very nice feature. Any address you input will be automatically stored in the history and you can retrieve it at any time; you can also copy everything to the SD card and store it in your computer or use the data in another Mio, cool. If you don't have the address but know where your destination is on the map, you can touch that point on the map, and the Mio will take you there.
There is also an icon for "Home" where you can store your home address, by clicking it, the Mio will take you home, a similar one is for "work". You can rename both if needed.
The detailed information available on the screen in "cockpit mode" is impressive, on the upper left corner it shows the next maneuver (an arrow going right or left), below that it shows the distance to that maneuver and the estimated time of arrival to your final destination. Next to that you have four icons to zoom in and out on the map, and to change the view from 2 to 3 dimensions and vise versa. Another nice feature is the pedestrian mode, in that mode; the Mio will take you thru the shortest route ignoring the traffic direction of one way streets. You can customize the Mio for brighter screen or to get louder if you reach a specific speed; routing can be customized to shortest, fastest or economical. You can avoid Toll roads, U turns, unpaved roads, Highways, etc.
The Text to Speech feature is also a definite plus. The only thing that I really don't like in the Mio C230 is the very limited number of POI's (about 900K), you will hardly be able to find anything in there, Mio needs to do smoothing about that limitation. However, you can add you own POI's to the data base if you know the address.
In short, if you don't need the MP3/Photo player, or the blue tooth; then the Mio C230 is the one for you. It is a great basic GPS, loaded with features that may not be available on other big name brands. Impressive signal reception, bright screen, clear TTS voice, nice design, pocket size, at an unbeatable price.

starsMio C320 Great Potential Not Realized
This product works very well in most situations. The graphics are great, the screens are bright, the voices are good, the volume is excellent, the user interface is easy to use except that I found that the buttons are on the small side unless the unit is in your hand, satellite acquisition on startup is slow but rock solid once established, the points of interest are very out of date, route performance on long trips is great but poor on short trips.

Route performance is a big deal because it is the reason that we buy a GPS. My experience over the past month of using the product in 3 different states and on many local trips in the Chicago area have been positive except for the beginning and ending of routes. The program logic without fail, no matter what the settings used, always routes the shortest route. Sounds good right? In practice it is not so good because this means that the route leaves the main roads and highways with higher speed limits and fewer stops and takes off on local streets, zig zagging around local neighborhoods with speed limits of 25 miles per hour and stop signs at every intersection. For example the first time I set the route from my home to work and followed the route it took 27 minutes on a trip that normally only takes 15 minutes.

This strange performance may be the result of the map database being incomplete for all coverage areas. The C230 handbook documents that fact under "Frequently Asked Questions" that the speed warning program function in normally disabled because the speed limit information in the data base is incomplete for all areas. If you remove speed limit information from the route calculation, all roads would have equal weights in the routing decision and would therefore come up with the routing answer that us usually very wrong. This is a deficiency no mater what the cause, is one that Mio needs to address to make the C230 a winner.

I will continue to use the Mio C230 on trips that take me into the unknown but I seldom bother to turn it on, on local trips unless I need a good laugh.

starsInexpensive but works like the more pricey units
Large GPS. The largest salesman for this point of the prices is that it also includes the text with the speach and does really a very good work with the pronunciation. Good factor of size and form. The whole of device is excellent, particularly for this price. Tilted side: it does not take to me what I would consider the fastest manner around the city, but on other side I did not obtain it to help me to obtain where I already knew to go. Only the other negative one is the chart misses already some new roads. The newer section of I-540 around Raleigh, GOLD is not on the chart. I understand that there will be updates in the future but they will not be free. It is also typical, I believe, other devices of GPS. It definately will obtain to you where you try to obtain with however. It recomputes routes quickly if you take a different turn or do not turn where it indicates to you, which is nice. On the whole, an inexpensive rgeat GPS if it is all want you or need.

starsEXCELLENT!!!
The best GPS outside there for the money. The device of TTS is HUUUUUUUUUGE! ! ! Only the problem is that it has need for the "stores" more preloaded like Walmart and target. If all is well the company works on an update with the software. But it is the greatest exit and it is not any biggie! The screen is marvellous.

starsSo far so good. Minor problem experienced
I have owned it for about 10 days. Everything seems working fine. Signal reception is great. I had a Garmin StreePilot c340 for a few days more than half a year ago. Garmin c340 could not receive signal as soon as I took it away from the dashboard. In contrast, Mio c230 has no problem at all wherever I place it in the car.

Mio c230 is thin, much lighter than Garmin's c340. Touchscreen works fine. Menu is generally good (it took a little bit time to figure out what is what since I did not have much experience with GPS in the past).

Used it today to go to Gilroy Garden (in northern California). The address given at Gilroy Garden's website is 3050 Hecker Pass Hwy, and Google's maps found it easily. When I input the address into Mio c230, it said there was no such address, but nonetheless calculated the route for me. I decided to follow its route, and it led to me to a county park on the same Hecker Pass Hwy, about 3 miles away from Gilroy Garden. So, it was not as accurate as I wished, but not terribly wrong either. A possible excuse might be that the particular address is in the rural area. For the price and all the features I wanted (such as text-to-speech), I hope Mio c230 is a worthy trade-off.

starsNot user friendly at all!
I waited to buy my first GPS with TTS right and decided this one instead of Garmin Nuvi 260 because it was half of the prices. The reviews seemed to be exceptional on this device thus I was sold. Initially, less one million POI is a joke as well as possible of, aucuns places of station, stations of train, I could not even find a store local of space in the sector, I could go indefinitely. The fast guide of beginning is an absolute joke, I am rather capable the use of the computers and the electronic devices and this thing took a good moment to try to appear outside and I still not near had not just solved this enigma. I cannot imagine a beginner to handle this article. It was not precise with different voyage 3, frustrating just to employ to say the minors! Personally, I do not believe that you should invest hours reading a handbook of 90 pages to appear out way of obtaining point A to direct B. I return it to the Amazon and testing Garmin, I hope that it is not the same animal.

starsBig bang for the buck
Good product, with text-voice. Many devices without basic image not-General practitioners of the thingies which one finds in the high-end, of the models much more expensive of the "better" marks. A friend brought his Garmin Nuvi 660 length on a journey, and I compared my c230 with him Évidemment Garmin 660 is better, but I did not need the additional devices and even the additional size. It is good outward journey inside the adjustments c230 in a way ordered in my pocket and me. Update: the lack of sufficient Pea now became a little painful thus I hope that MILLION OR the community of user will propose levellings.
